There is nothing really here! The tapSTICK is a okay peripheral for the iPod Shuffle but really it is not a alternative to the control system in the provided earphones of the shuffle.
The tree buttons on the tapSTICK control exactly the same functions as the without the item. The look and feel of the tapSTICK is not as comfortable as the brush metal of the iPod. In fact, it looks cheap and very bulky. The tapSTICK almost doubles the width and length of the original shuffle.
Aside from the all this, by far worst feature of this product is that there is no way of accessing the on off switch when the shuffle is inserted. The centre button on the tap stick pauses the shuffle but is very easily pressed again to un-pause music. Several times I have come back to drained battery. If you want to turn off the shuffle you must remove it from the tapSTICK.
This is a good first attempt at a shuffle and if they were to redesign this, I would look at it closely. + on / off switch, + better control system, – plastic, + metallic finish.

The TapStick is well constructed and works as advertised, but I find it awkward to use. In order to turn it on or off, charge it, or sync it you have to remove your iPod from it. The only reason to buy it would be to use it with a set of earphones that don’t have the controls built into the cord.

I ended up returning this item after a week of use because of how awkward it is to use. My biggest gripe is that there is no way to know what your Shuffle is doing when you don’t have it hooked up to headphones or a stereo. With the positioning of the controls, it’s really easy to accidentally hit the play button (especially when using the Shuffle’s built-in clip). I would like to see the addition either of a hold button or a function light. Right now, I like the concept of the product, but I’m not satisfied with how it handles yet. However, if you’re looking for a case with integrated controls and don’t care if the Shuffle might be playing when you’re not listening, take it for a test drive. This is one of those products that you really need to use to see if it works for you.

So I bought the tapstick for my ipod suffle 3G a few weeks ago. I got it, it worked for about three days and then it started giving me problems. For some reason I would have to nudge the ipod in the case to use the buttons. So that meant that every time I wanted to shift songs or change the volume I had to press my ipod firmly in the case. I realised though that the adapter that I push my ipod into is loose in the rubber casing. What a waste of money.

I bought this new and got it within 2 days of ordering upon receiving it, I noticed how much smaller it was in comparison to some photos I seen online. Overall the product is durable, reliable, and easy to use no problems thus far. GO BUY IT NOW!!!
