  1. Samuel Chell says:

I love these Belkin sleeve cases. Despite the narrow, fragile-looking strip on the bottom, they defy even my own cynical predictions about durability, holding up far longer than an avid and active “Toucher” has a right to expect. Since ordering this one a couple of days ago, it’s dropped another dollar plus change. Apparently purple/lavendar is not a popular color, because this was the least expensive one I could find two days ago as well. (Give it another two days and make a killing–on the other hand, sometimes these things go up rather than down.)

Should you be concerned about selling-out your identity to the color, the picture tends to exaggerate its brightness or “loudness.” It’s actually a very understated cover, not apt to attract any undue notice whatsoever. And Amazon’s current price easily beats Apple Store’s.

Now my only problem is trying to decide what the difference is, apart from color and the stripes, between the Belkin Sleeve Case for the Ipod Touch and this “Vector” case. My first Belkin came two to a package, and at a single-digit figure, so they sold for just south of five bucks a case. This new “Vector” model comes one to a package and is a bit more expensive. I thought that maybe the Vector version would permit use of the iPod in a dock without shedding the case. It does–at least in some docks. But so did its predecessor. Maybe “Vector” is Latin for “pricier.” And why should it be pricier than the non-Vector version? Maybe the color purple is in short supply, or all of those lines that you see running across the surface of the case are produced by a fine gold filament (by rubbing your finger over the surface, you’ll notice that the lines are slightly embossed–further support of my theory.)

  2. I guess I thought it would be more plastic than rubber-like. Otherwise, it seems ok. It was delivered in just 4 days and that is worth any misunderstanding on my part about the material it’s made from.
